To closely track international innovation trends in vocational education, learn from global best practice to advance the high-quality connotative construction of vocational education in China, our institute has established a major project supported by the 2024 special funds for basic scientific research. The project, named "Research of International Innovation Trends in Vocational Education", will promote international collaboration and build a consensus on the innovative development of global vocational education.
The research adopts a multi-evidence-based research approach. Based on first-hand and second-hand data obtained through diverse channels, it organizes literature analysis, comparative research, field research, and expert interviews. It highly summarizes and condenses consensual viewpoints, delivering a comprehensive judgment. Through releasing research reports and submitting decision-making consulting reports, it provides valuable references for guiding the development direction of vocational education and support educational decision-making.
This project represents China’s first forward-looking, systematic empirical research on international innovation trends in vocational education. It integrates authoritative judgments on the reform and development of vocational education from international academic journals, conferences, and organizations, as well as examines the innovative development models of major countries. By refining the basic patterns and analyzing the causes of these innovation trends, it will provide guidance of the innovative development of vocational education both to China and to the world.
