OECD School+
To address the challenges brought by recent changes in education, promote the transformation of basic education, and drive innovation in school classrooms, the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) initiated the "School +" innovation research project in Paris, France in May 2023. The main objective is to focus on innovation in classroom teaching reform. Under the analysis framework developed by the OECD, it collects global innovation cases and conducts evidence-based research and results to form experiences that can be replicated and promoted. To this end, the OECD plans to attract a number of schools with distinctive features and innovation in classroom teaching reform from around the world as project member schools to join the OECD "School +" innovation network. These schools will also simultaneously join the "Global Schools Council", which will be established in the spring of 2025. Member schools will have the opportunity to participate in both online and offline international seminars, exchanging and sharing their innovative achievements with the world's top schools.
At the invitation of the OECD and entrusted by the Ministry of Education, China National Academy of Educational Sciences (CNAES), as the leading Chinese institution, is responsible for organizing domestic schools to participate in the project research. This is a high-level international educational scientific research project. CNAES has specifically organized and established an expert team for the research on classroom teaching reform and innovation. This team is responsible for screening the schools that intend to participate in the project research, conducting in-depth verification on the research results of the OECD "School +" project, providing academic guidance and result recommendations for the classroom teaching reform and innovation, Specifically, the team will help organize schools to form a scientific research community to deeply explore the theory and practice of classroom teaching reform and innovation in China's basic education in the new era.
